Description

According to the updated report of the Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control of the provinces of Dien Bien, Son La, Lao Cai, Hoa Binh, Phu Tho, Hai Duong, Ha Nam, Nam Dinh, Thai Binh, Thanh Hoa, Nghe An and Hanoi city, heavy rain, floods, flash floods, and landslides caused by the circulation of storm No. 2 have caused the following main damages:

- Regarding people: 10 people died (Son La 07, Dien Bien 02, Hanoi 01); 09 people missing (Son La 03, Dien Bien 05, Hanoi 01), 09 people injured.

- Regarding houses: 102 houses collapsed, swept away, urgently evacuated; 1,966 houses were damaged and affected.

- Regarding agriculture: 40,534 hectares of rice and crops were flooded and affected.

- Regarding livestock and aquaculture: 11,899 livestock and poultry died or were swept away; 1,721 hectares of aquaculture were damaged.

- Regarding traffic: Landslides occurred at 769 points on National Highways with a total volume of over 47,383m3 of soil and rock, of which flash floods caused severe damage to National Highway 12 in Dien Bien province; in addition, heavy rains and floods also caused landslides and flooding on many local traffic routes.
